Meeting of Montenegro winners of the SEEDLING grant program

In Podgorica, on  February 26, 2018 in the premises of the Regional Center for Environment for Central and Eastern Europe, Country Office Montenegro three (3) grants to civil society organizations were awarded, in the framework of the Small Grants Program of the SEEDLING Project (Presentation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals development in schools in South East Europe), which is implemented by Regional Center for Environment for Central and Eastern Europe, with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).

On the winners meeting, representatives of the winners grantees – civil society organizations (CSOs) were welcomed and greeted on behalf of the Country Office Montenegro, Mrs. Srna Sudar and Mrs. Mira Vasiljević. Participants were  presented the importance of the SEEDLING project, which encompass SDGs implementation, and points the importance of implementation of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development by 2030 (Agenda 2030) as well as promotion of SDGs among the youth.

In Montenegro, out of 17 projects submitted adressing certain SDGS through practical activities, the Local Advisory Body (LAB) has selected three (3) that will work in partnership with the schools to strengthen actors in several municipalities in the northern and central regions of Montenegro. The aim of selected project is to contribute to development of their communities and regions through strengthening of entrepreneurship and desiging green jobs and activities.

Following introductory presentation of the project and the grant award process, each of the grantees had the opportunity to present their organization and project proposal, after which they became acquainted with the rules and obligations of narrative and financial reporting.

 

 

At the conclusion of the meeting on behalf of the Director of the REC in Montenegro, Ms. Ruža Radović, Mrs. Srna Sudar officially handed over the Grant Contracts to representatives of the following winners organizations: NGO Natura (leading OCD), the project: Green Economy for Sustainable Development, NGO North Land (leading OCD), the project: With Knowledge and Co-operation To UN Sustainable Development Goals and NGO Pedagogy Center of Montenegro (leading OCD), project: Ecological Ethics - Instrument for sustainable world.
