REC Montenegro promoted the INTERREG MED project PANACeA at the Mediterranean Coast day 2017, 25.09.2017, Tivat, Montenegro

Mediterranean Coast Day 2017 conference, was organized by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro and the UN Environment / Mediterranean Action Plan, on September 25th, 2017 at the Hotel Regent, Tivat, Montenegro, under the high patronage of H.E. Mr. Filip Vujanovic, President of Montenegro, who will personally attend the event.

REC Montenegro promoted INTERREG MED project PANACeA, which represent regional initiative for streamlining management efforts in Protected Areas for enhanced Nature Conservation in the Mediterranean Sea.

This event, celebrated annually since 2007, brings together all the countries of the Mediterranean to raise awareness of the importance of the coast as a natural, cultural and economic resource, and the risks it currently faces. Invited participants include Mediterranean governmental representatives, UN Environment/MAP representatives, distinguished foreign guests, diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations in Montenegro, as well as local authorities, NGOs and local associations.

The main topic of this year's event was "Protect our Sea", as focus for both official and informal segments of the event. The celebration is being co-organised by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro, the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management of Montenegro (JPMD), and the Priority Actions Programme Regional Activity Centre (PAP/RAC) of UN Environment/MAP.
